These Core Values embody who we are, how we hold ourselves, and who we want to deal with in our business. They govern our vision and mindset to build a community-based development with a continuum of housing for renters, first-time home buyers, established families, and retiring couples who want to live in Ucluelet and others who want to visit. We see the Minato Bay community and this wide mix of residential units that comprise it to be a legacy for the greater good of Ucluelet.

We have over 50 years of business and entrepreneurial experience in both financing and establishing new businesses, developments, and ventures that have flourished and enriched their local communities.

Local Operations Manager: Chris Bozman

Chris is a Journeyman Carpenter, Professional Project Manager, Father, Husband and Ucluelet based businessman. In early 2022, Chris became a Board Member of the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce. Chris has a strong interest in producing attainable housing formats for local Ucluelet families and workers. Over the last 5 years he has worked with municipal and provincial governments on providing solution-based approaches for attainable housing development. With Minato Bay Chris is providing the on the ground direction and looking after the day to day operations for the development.

Developer: Jon Mara

Jon is a resident of South Surrey/White Rock. Jon has visited Ucluelet and Tofino almost every year since 1979 when he and his wife Joan drove the graveled logging road from Port Alberni to the Pacific Rim National Park and fell in love with the whole Ucluelet to Tofino corridor. Owner of property in Tofino this is Jon’s first real estate project in the Ucluelet area.

Architecture Partner: Formosis Architecture

Formosis Architecture is a Lower Mainland owned and operated boutique design firm located in Gastown and Burnaby. Their studio culture promotes a team based organizational structure – open concept, open ideas, a collaborative and supportive approach to their work.
Formosis builds on the principle of a desire to design meaningful places for people. In doing so, they endeavor to clearly understand and respond intelligently and responsibly to Minato Bay’s needs. Their approach is one of collaboration, bringing together various design disciplines, contractors, the local Ucluelet community, renters, potential owners and other stakeholders, to meet Minato Bay’s unique challenges with an open mind.
